Hey Velton- Was this your son? Forrest County=Hattiesburg... 1988... about the time you would have a son in college...

James Velton Knight was charged with selling 108.2 grams (approximately a quarter pound) of marijuana, a Schedule I control substance, to an undercover Forrest County deputy sheriff on or about June 24, 1988. On October 20, 1989, Knight appeared before the Circuit Court of Forrest County with his attorney, Travis Buckley, and entered a plea of guilty to the sale charge. The circuit judge, after carefully and meticulously determining that Knight's plea was knowingly, intelligently and
voluntarily entered and that he was pleading guilty because he was in fact guilty, accepted Knight's plea, adjudicated him guilty of the sale of a controlled substance and proceeded to sentence him to serve a term of three years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections; however, the court thereupon suspended Knight's incarceration and ordered probation after successful completion of certain other conditions which Knight thereafter successfully completed. On April 22, 1992, a petition for termination of Knight's probation was filed and a discharge order was entered that same day terminating Knight's probation.

None of this explains his EXTREME hatred of La Tech. That's got to his kid, who else would name their kid Velton? Maybe the arresting cop was a La Tech grad!

You posted earlier LaTech's contributions/donations comparing the amount with that of Mississippi State's contributions/donations.

Using the same chart, I'm also seeing these numbers:

    $8,750,189 MSU ticket sales
    $ 865,028 LaTech ticket sales

    Well, here's our "donations."

Required Bulldog Club contributions for establishing priority to purchase season tickets:

    (Based on Availability)
BULLDOG $100 4 Football Season Tickets 2 Basketball Season Tickets

TEAMMATE $600 6 Football Season Tickets 2 Basketball Season Tickets

STATE CLUB $1,600 8 Football Season Tickets 4 Basketball Season Tickets

COACHES CIRCLE $3,000 10 Football Season Tickets 4 Basketball Season Tickets

MAROON/WHITE $5,000 10 Football Season Tickets 6 Basketball Season Tickets

SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL $12,000 & Above 10 Football Season Tickets 8 Basketball Season Tickets

This is chicken feed to some other universities, but my point was, and continues to be, if you're going to use Mississippi State as some kind of qualifier to make your point, at least be fair about what you're saying. We are well aware at MSU of who we are -- and are not -- and this kind of crap gets old.
I wasn't the one who posted the numbers for Mississippi State. And I didn't make up the criteria that the NCAA uses for its required annual Agreed Upon Procedures Reports. I politely answered your question about the source of the information to prove that it was not fabricated.

And while your link does provide some useful information, it also reinforces the point that any "contribution" amounts required to buy season tickets are counted as Ticket Sales and not as Contributions. That still means that Tech's unforced contributions amount exceeds that of Mississippi State.

And Tech's 2008-2009 ticket sales amount jumped to a decade-high $1,646,699 from that 2007-2008 figure that was near Tech's lowest over the last decade.

And this discussion is about CUSA and therefore USM is completely relevant whether you think so or not.

Re: CUSA Expansion targets: Temple, Tech, TCU

Does anyone have a list of how much in state funds other CUSA/WAC/MAC/MWC teams spend? I know good and well that Tech is not the only non-BCS school in the nation that uses state funding in some form or fashion. Such a list would go a long way towards proving what an obsessive nutcase this guy is, in that of ALL the schools in the country using state funds he decides to zero his insanity in on Tech.

WOW....you guys have clearly went over the line. You freely acknowledge you don't even know if this is the right guy. Can't point him out in a picture. Accuse his son of crimes, with freely admiting you don't know if its really his son or not.

Even more shocking is not a single Tech fans is calling for its removal. Unbelievable that its been here this long and hasn't been removed

Re: CUSA Expansion targets: Temple, Tech, TCU

GoGold, like all of EagerEagle's threads on the CUSA, WAC, and other message boards this thread has turned into laughable, ridiculous humor. Perhaps you've never seen this happen before on internet message boards? We have no problem discussing/debating issues with fans from other schools, but EE has certainly demonstrated longstanding psychotic behavior. By the way, do you know EE personally?

Apparently there are going to be congressional hearings about this thread per EE...

And, GoGold, there are ways to report a thread if you think it is inappropriate. It's the exclamation point in the white triangle about an inch below your screen name.
