Well, seeing how I haven't graced Rabbs with my presence for several years now, I was unaware of their current policy.

I knew change was coming when they got all high-falootin and fancy-schmancy and starting offering cheese as an option for the Rabbs Burgers they sold outside on the deck. Once upon a time we had three things to check before leaving the house for Rabbs:

1) Driver's liscense in left front pocket
2) $20 cash in right front pocket
3) Slice of cheese in back pocket for 1:30 AM Rabbs Burger, as it was not on the menu at the time. You should have seen the jealousy in other dude's eyes when they saw the cheesy deliciousness on our burgers. We always told folks we were in the VIP club and than only certain members could get cheese.

I'll stick to the high road and posit that although I don't really have firsthand experince in this, favoring ladies would probably actually be the professional way to go here. Isn't this pretty much common practice?

I mean, sure they want more chicks there than guys, it keeps guys going there. No one wants to go to a sausage-fest bar.

It has to do with the maturity level of 18 year-old guys. It sucks, but the rule is there for a reason.

And the best part is it is 100% true! You can't imagine the dissapointment in your heart when, after working up a major appetite, you finally get that burger, reach back to your pocket, and realize you have forgotten your cheese slice!

I actually first heard about this new bar out in San Angelo, TX Thursday night (sorry I don't read all of the threads like I should) from a young country singer who is playing there in September. His name is Josh Grider and is very good - sings his own stuff and others like Merle, Willie, etc. Had a few beers and a couple of shots with him and talked about his experiences on the road when Ruston came up. He has played at Rabb's in the past and was major impresed with the folks from Tech (he is a Baylor grad who grew up just outside the gates of NMSU). He is excited about this new venue and after I read this thread I am too! Especially since they will be getting rid of the "EYE"!

Any place that will take busine$$ away from Sundown is all right with me! See you there this fall!
