Flipping through the channels and stopped on Palladia. Train in concert. Train must be short for trainwreck, because they are absolutely the most terrible thing I have ever heard. Definitely on par with, if not a touch worse than, Nickelback and Creed.

“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
You're really going to hate me then. In line with having to go see Jason Mraz with my wife, I also had to go see Train. They were the special entertainment at her veterinary conference in Atlanta. They actually put on a decent show and the guy has some pipes. Gave off a more poppy Counting Crows vibe. However I'm going to see Jason Isbel do an acoustic show tomorrow night and then an electric show Friday night. That should be fun
They've had their moments. I saw them live back in the pre-Drops of Jupiter days. I thought they were pretty good. Did a great version of "Ramble On."
I've liked a couple of their singles, and couldn't stand some others. I'll admit that I haven't had much patience for them lately. The lyrics get on my nerves, but that new single of theirs is pretty darn catchy (if only it wasn't so ubiquitous).
yeah, the first time I heard them was on rock radio way before Drops of Jupiter and Meet Virginia and they were pretty cool. A song called Free comes to mind from back then. Definitely in the pop category but did put on a good show as far as getting the crowd into it and having fun.

Otis Redding - Hard to Handle
Like the horn section. It's hard not to wonder what other great songs we missed out on when he died.

This song has great significance for me. I played it in my car driving to meet my wing commander on a very dark and foggy morning before Desert Storm. It reminded me of what we were about to set into motion. When I got to the parking lot the sun was just rising through the fog and a big black crow was sitting on top of the flag pole crowing. Gave me a sense of our mortality and the enormity of the situation with the crow and this song ending just as I got there. Me, my wing commander and another briefer went drove on to Ramstein AB and briefed the commander of US Air Forces Europe. That briefing ended with a brief to the commander of forces European command and approval for the norther theater of operations later named Proven Force with Desert Storm to the south. A time in my life where things were moving very fast and I was doing things I never dreamed of. This song is a masterpiece.
