I bet this Memphis Juco guy never even attended college. I still can't believe they don't own a football stadium or BBall facility.
For the record, I was talking about USFs undergraduate enrollment of about 30k. Miami is a private school with a slightly better on-campus experience than USF, but still has its colleges broken up and spread around the metro Miami area. But, as I said, nobody in Florida really wants to go to these schools. It is kind of like ULM, surely nobody WANTS to go there, but sometimes people's circumstances send them to schools where they don't want to go.
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
I guess you would have to go to a real university to understand what a true full-university experience is like. It is like the difference between studying Spanish in school in a year versus immersing yourself in a Spanish-speaking country for a year. But, if you like Memphis, you probably would love the shit out of USF.

Their fans do, but not their administration anymore. SMU and UNT already have a multi-year deal to play each other. So they don't have TOO much against playing UNT on a regular basis.
One school alone doesn't have the blackball authority and SMU has shown influence isnt that great. SMU's prez publically campainged for La Tech over UTEP and UNT last time a CUSA spot was open....How'd that work out for ya?
Im not saying La TECH is DOA when it comes to CUSA, or the UNT would be an automatic choice. Im just saying that too much is made of the SMU hate of UNT. In the end CUSA presidents are going to choose what the best business decision is.
So, I have been in meetings all day long........ I was longing to log on and see what was going on........ Any news besides the beginning of this thread and the flamers?
There is an on-campus baseball stadium built this past season. Before that, they played at USA Stadium in Millington, TN and Tim McCarver Stadium at the Liberty Bowl complex.
Soccer, one of their better sports for men and women, is played at the Mike Rose Complex in Collierville.
The University of Memphis really has nothing to bring its alumni to campus.
If UNT got in over us, it would be a big mistake on CUSA's part. I don't dislike UNT, but they are a commuter school and are nothing in football or bball to brag about. Yes, they have numbers, but UTEP proved that numbers do not equate to tv ratings - I hope they have learned that.
I don't think CUSA will go after UNT. They may be 3rd choice, but I believe we will be first choice.
The majority of UNT's student live within 10 miles of campus. Campus dorms are full. Yep they commute to school, but only a short distance. At least in BB, UNT has been to the Dance 2 of the past 4 years and is favored to return this year. UNT is a strong candidate if CUSA has an opening.
Gut feeling... here's CUSA preferences:
1. La Tech
2. Temple
3. MTSU
4. FAU
5. North Texas
6. UTSA
