Added in edit: I tried to post this during the frenzy during the speculation about the departure of Coach Dooley.
That's a Lead Belly cover, as was Midnight Special (without going to the shelf, I think Lead Belly was credited with writing these, but much of his work was arranging even older folk tunes).
Susie Q was Dale Hawkins (I've seen him live; killer).
Fogerty - and a tremendous list of other popular folks...- would tell you how much Louisiana artists and styles influenced their work.

I was actually thinking more on the lines of Jerry Lee Lewis--he & his rockin' band from Ferriday played our Bolton HS Prom at the Bentley Hotel in Alexandria in 1959. He is scheduled in one of the casinos over in Bossier sometimes this month, so he is still ALIVE. How 'bout background music of BREATHLESS, one of his huge hits.
