One of my friends from Boston --a diehard Pats fans-- called me a few days ago all excited about J'Mar being signed. I guess I could see J'Mar becoming a scout team player for the Pats. Hey...he's a fellow Tech alumni, so I wish him the very best.

With there being only seven rounds in the NFL draft, being an NFL UFA, especially awarded by Belichick, this really is a HUGE accomplishment.

It appears the Michigan State QB really is the camp arm. J'Mar is being viewed as a rookie who will either win the 3rd string job and be on the active roster, or at a minimum, be a practice squad guy.

The Pats believe he can immediately provide them with a scout team look each week, given some of what they'll face in opposing QBs throughout the season.

I hope - for his future - that he dives into the playbook and does everything he can to make this work.
That would be great for him. I hope he is ready to shine!

I hope we get back to having a great QB...it's one of the trademarks of Tech football and the past three years has been very mediocre, at best.

As for Holtz...well...I think he should look down the road at BR. For the first time ever the tiggers employed a wide-open offense and it made a huge difference. It's what Tech has made a living at for decades...powerful passing attacks with great QBs and talented WRs. Holtz has gotten away from that. He has done a "good" job overall. He broke thru with a 10-win season and has won 6 bowls in a row. If he would just build on that and move us up to the next plateau...conference titles and Top 25 rankings...then I think that's about all we could realistically ask. Along with contend for that coveted NY6 bowl slot too!

Regardless he's earned the right to keep trying...for the time being.

I'm going to just be happy to watch a game. I don't really care who is there coaching or playing at this point. I just want to be sitting in the stands.

I'm going back home if I get over there and see inconsiderate people are not wearing masks.

Yeah, glad that conference POY quarterback of ours is gone.

You guys are incredible. And many of you are just waiting on J’Mar to fail so you can now your chest and say “I told you so!!”

Heck, I want the exact opposite to happen.

I want him to excel beyond all predictions to show we could have done so much more if he had been given the opportunity (open it up...deplore the bore). I am ready for someone to make Tech football exciting again.

He was CUSAPOY, but he was far being our MVP. He was actually our least MVP for our last several games. His attitude probably cost Tech a top 20 finish.

    Carry on...

Looking at this thru the lens of a neutral observer, I will say that Belichick knows QBs. He discovered Brady, didn't he. If Smith makes the roster there must be something there. If he doesn't then it's because he doesn't have it.

You've got to quit carrying that cross. In a post above a few days ago, I wished J'Mar nothing but the best. And I meant it. That said, I'm still pissed that J'Mars poor judgement cost Louisiana Tech a CUSA Football Championship in 2019. That's a hard fact. And as far as I'm concerned, that is what he'll always be remembered for by most Tech fans.

Actually that's speculation, albeit supported by facts.

    Also, twss.

Wonder if the pats will cut their playbook down to about 6 plays to accommodate the rockstar ??
