Ok you realize the bowl system is corrupt and you cant trust anybody. Bruce is the AD and he doesn't. Thats why he needs to go. He is in over his head.

Once corruption enters an organization it spreads and does not get better until the whole system fails. That's what's happening to college football today. It's a corrupt organization ran by a bunch of corrupt people.

If it is in fact true that we were promised a spot by the Liberty Bowl officials, EVEN OVER A BIG XII TEAM, and we have such a strong case with "witnesses" (WAC Commish), then we would be pursuing litigation at this point. Nothing has indicated we are though. Bruce's charade here is nothing more than to cover his ass and hopefully save face before the new Tech President comes in and really puts him under the microscope. He won't be working at Tech long enough to see next football season, PERIOD.

Oh I know quite well all about the ins and outs of Ruston. Moved there in '67, 12 years in Lincoln schools, 4 years at Tech and raised my children there for their first 10 years. Several family members still attend that infamous Baptist church out there on I-20. I'm on a first name basis with several of those folks accused of "running" things around there. So don't lecture me on naivete about Ruston dip$..+

The NCAA gave them the waiver. The rule was put in the books a couple of years ago (maybe last year) so that the AQ's would not lose a bowl slot if this happened. Saved them twice so far. GTech only made the title game because UNC and Miami were bowl banned (UNC by the NCAA, and Miami was self inflicted). Kind of like Wisconsin getting into the title game because OSU and PSU were both banned.

For those of you who have blinders on or are so old that memory fades, more good has happened during Bruce's time at Tech than happened under any AD in Tech history. For example:
- Tech football scheduling significantly improved (probably contributed to 2012 success)
- Tech football reached ratings heights never imagined
- A&M game in Shreveport was a major success
- Tech football home attendance reached 26,000 avg.
- Tech MBB turned around from the bottom of the barrel
- Q4E kept alive despite DR's best efforts to kill it
- Game day environment steadily improved each year
- LTAC donations improved despite poor leadership on the part of the foundation
I could go on but I suspect that there are those who will discount what was accomplished in the hope that we can get another amateur (maybe an Oakes).

Someone else on BBB explained that their regular season record was 6 - 6, a qualifying record, and the waiver was because of the post-season loss.

Stinks to high heaven, but that was how it was explained.

Bruce f'd up and he hasn't done jack as AD. Where is our state-wide radio coverage? We were suppose to "rattle the tiger cage" according to Bruce. Where is our video scoreboard for the TAC? What about Q4E?

From what I've seen, Bruce can't drive out a project. He's getting paid pretty good for little results.

Not to defend Bruce really, but he does have one major impediment called DR.

There are plenty of IFs and BUTs to go around. The truth is we probably won't do better than Bruce. But we must replace him if we desire to move forward with our athletic program. That is the reality of college athletics that we live in.

Attracting new talent to the coaching staff will be quite a challenge either way, but almost imposible if we continue with the status quo.

My problem with his staying is that if Bruce hadn't begged the IBowl for an invite, they might have been more willing to work with him when we were their best option. He begged, they offered, he waffled, they set a deadline, and he walked. Not the way we should do business.

Yep. IF the football team would have beaten Utah State and San Jose State then we would be in the Orange Bowl with a $3M net profit. Instead we left it up to our incompetent AD, so our BUTTS are going nowhere.
