Perhaps this is the reason, as I document in book “The Snapping of the American Mind,” scientific surveys by both Gallup and SurveyMonkey show Democrats are roughly twice as likely as Republicans to be mentally ill. The left is angry and delusional by nature. Its perpetual victim mentality – refusing to look within, always self-righteously blaming others – as well as its religious adherence to a utopian impulse that denies human nature and basic reality, becomes a magnet for delusion. That’s what President Ronald Reagan was talking about when he observed, “The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”
