Seeing predictions of single digits by Monday. Back in 1983 the Red River froze. Might see something similar next week.

Not liking this at all. Below freezing for this many days will be a nightmare. Add the potential ice and snow, and it will be even worse.
We began to get "pre-warnings" from NOAA on Monday - utility providers were notified also -
WE have been dodging ice storms for almost 30 years
Unfortunately we are DUE for a big one - and with everything else that's happened in the last 18 months we are preparing for the worst
Basically all we can do at the parish is have chainsaws sharp and trucks (all of ours are 4x4's) and rubber tired trackhoes at the ready
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Your saving grace will be the hurricanes and tornadoes that have whipped the ArkLaMissTex over the past 5 years...a lot of limbs and trees have relented to their fury!

I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?
Let it sneaux! Let it sneaux! Let is sneaux!
My biggest concern is the low temp being forecasted. Seeing predictions of -1 actual air temp. Not the wind chill, which will be -15, the air temp of -1. If true, will break the record low all-time for February which was 3F back in the 1880's.
Damn global warming!

Calling for a low of 7F tonight. I'm sure I'll be dealing with busted pipes at one or more of my rentals tomorrow afternoon. Comes with the territory.
Stay safe!
I have all the cabinets open and the heat turned up at the one house we have vacant right now. Hopefully, that will help keep the pipes a little warmer.
3 degrees! This colder than it ever got when we lived in Louisville. Crazy.
Roads are worse today in Shreveport and aren’t likely to improve until the weekend at the earliest.
Looks like we won’t get to single digit temps here. 16 and climbing. Tomorrow will be devastating for those who get non sleet/snow freezing rain.
The models I’ve seen show the rain line well south of Shreveport near Coushatta angling up towards Tallulah/Vicksburg. We dodged a bullet yesterday. Hope we do again tomorrow
