The plan is to grab our ankles. We have been spanked this round of conference shuffle. We have been down this road with more than one President and athletic administration and we have proven we don't plan, we don't learn, we just float through life in the NCAA and hope something good happens.
Our admin needs to put on the chapstick and start kissing ass, because that's the only way we end up in a conference other than CUSA 45.0 "The home of the FCS"
Did I look at it right? Marshall moving to Sunbelt brings them to 15 members with 2 being non football. That means they are unbalanced in East vs west. Is James Madison really a better option than us with all the hoops they have to jump through?
I never thought I'd see the day when schools would leave another FBS conference to "move up" to the Sun Belt Conference, but here we are.
I can see your point, but let me ask you this. Would you willingly jump into the cold waters of the North Atlantic at night? You would if you were on the Titanic and half the ship was under water. In CUSAs case, it’s 2/3 underwater and no lifeboats. CUSA is done as a conference.
CUSA was done as a conference when they hired Judy as commissioner. There has been a series of lame brained moves on the part of the conference from TV deals to scheduling agreements to invites. It is just now the walls are cracked and the foundation is crumbling and people are going wth?
So many people are reactive instead of being proactive. Including our own president who is struggling to see past his own feet right now. You have to be proactive with LONG term plans to succeed in college today: online courses, student fees, athletics continuing to build.
Presidents have to be visionaries, not bureaucrats.
