25-33 at the half
Well that escalated quickly.
At this point I'm just wondering if we'll lose by 50 or manage to keep it at 30.
Getting beat 70-32 by the MUTS... What's the worst loss in Lady Techsters history?
9-8, 1-3 in C-USA play. Chris Long got fired midseason for essentially that same record. On pace for the Lady Techsters 8th consecutive season without 20 wins or finishing top 2 in conference play. So sad what's become of this once great program.
Changes need to be made. I think the co-HC deal was a bad idea. Probably need to demote Scott back to the ops position and hire an assistant who can recruit a DI caliber player.
Future not looking good, especially after we lose Anthony after this season.
Tommy extended Brooke's contract through April 2024 at $246,000 annual salary plus incentives.
If she's fired, the buyout Tech would owe Brooke:
- $875,000 after the end of this season
- $700,000 after the end of next season
- $525,000 after the end of the 2020-21 season
- $350,000 after the end of the 2021-22 season
- $175,000 after the end of the 2022-23 season
But there is a mitigation clause that would reduce the buyout by her new salary if she takes a new job.
Something just isnt clicking consistently. We can beat P5s and good conference opponents but then turn around with absolute aweful performances.
Well of course, I would prefer to win in WBB, as I prefer ALL Tech teams to win, for all programs to be successful. But the reality is WBB doesn't pay any bills. I think $246K is too much to pay a WBB coach. But here we are, so....leave it be. No more contract extensions and certainly no raises for Brooke and her hubby. If she has greatly improved the program by 2022-23, and there is a reason to retain her services at that time, then we can talk. It might be that the Techsters are doing well by then and Brooke may want not only an extension, but a raise. I would say no raise. If she balks and threatens to go elsewhere, I say let her go. We can hire some up-n-coming hotshot coach for less, get three years out of him/her, and deal with that extension/raise issue at that time.
Clearly the Storhes are not getting it done.
I have never liked the fact that her husband had to be part of the deal and he is a “Co” Head coach. All the PHD’s and Admins are pretending to be stupid. Why not just fire him since technically he doesn’t report to her and force the outcome that is needed.
