The LSU fans will be outside heckling people . They did it at bowl game . But not many. Have you seen the stands for a Northeast game. No way they drive to a sketchy area to watch a but whipping . Factor in covid and this sinks Tommy for me.

Would have rather seen ULL on this date since they are also open with Missouri cancelling them. But at least Tommy is working to get something done. This is a tough situation with so many things up in the air. And remember it could be worse the game could have been in Monroe.

Those of you who might be able to go but don't want to give your money to ULM are covered. Just buy your tickets from Tech.

No return game. Not wasting the attendance boost in what will be a down year for attendance across the board. Not playing in Monroe. Not paying them for it.

Although a game in Monroe in 2020 with a return game in Ruston at almost any point in the future would probably have been a good deal for us. This year's games probably not going to be money-makers no matter what. So if you figure this year's more or less a lost cause anyway, but you can get a future (well-attended) home game out of it - that's probably making the most of a tough situation. Unfortunately, ULM figured that out, too. I doubt they were fighting over who got to host, probably fighting over who got to travel (the opposite of how we've always heard this has been in the past - because in normal times you'd very much want Game #1 at home).

Honestly it works out pretty well.

No strings attached re: return games, does them a good favor because we're all at the mercy of the panic.

If we win, we shut them up for another 20 years.

If we lose, we get to close our football program and save a chunk of change to focus on the coming academic reckoning.
