I guess there are certain things where long-time fans and current students who didn't follow college sports before getting to Tech just have a different mindset on. No clue either, Without really paying close attention(and less than stellar eyesight), I thought it was an m. These things appear more and more everyday, the texting abbreviations are bleeding over into everyday printed conversations. There is a time and place for it, I just do not see a need for it when you are sitting in front of a full keyboard (I do realize some of you do it from mobile devices) or have the time to do it correctly. No disrespect to the folks doing it, I just tire of seeing it appear in emails that I receive and in other formats.
Not long ago I sat down to read some letters that my day had written back to his parents and letters they had written to him during WWII, they were amazing as far as the grammar and I guess you could almost say the "elegance" they were written in. I miss seeing that and realize that those days are gone and modern grammar is much less strict and much less is expected and tolerated. Most everyone in those two generations were taught Latin, even in the small rural schools such as what my parents and grandparents attended. I think that really had a bearing on how well a lot of letters were written.
