I hope the US lasts that long because I definitely want to see Cumbie's Dawgs whup up on the tiggahs
Does this mean we are losing our home game with NC State?
That would be about right. They probably have us losing a home game to a ACC team for us to travel to gets a paycheck and probably host Lamar, Ouachita Baptist or Prairie View lol
My guess is someone is buying out the NC State series. Dr. Wood has stated that he wants 1 P5 $ game, 1 FCS game and H/A G5 games each year.
We have 2 Road P5 games scheduled for 2024 (NC St & Arkansas).
2023 CUSA: FIU (H), MTSU (A), WKU, UTEP (A), NMSU, Liberty, SHSU, Jacksonville St
- 09/02 - at SMU
- 09/09 - Northwestern State ($400,000)
- 09/23 - at Nebraska ($1.55 million)
- TBD - Home G5
2024
- 08/31 - Nicholls St ($325,000)
- 09/07 - at NC State
- 09/21 - Tulsa
- 11/23 - at Arkansas ($1.65 million)
2025
- 08/30 - Southeastern Louisiana ($325,000)
- 09/06 - NC State
- 09/06 @ LSU ($1.6 million)
- 09/25 - at Tulsa
Yeah, he's said that but look at this year. We didn't really improve anything to that end - we just swamped a P5 at home for a P5 on the road.
And like you say, 2024 still doesn't fit that mold. I guess you think we'll drop both NC State games? Make it like @ UNT for '24 and then the home game in '25? I don't see how that's better (other than probably being easier). We'd make way less money and wouldn't improve the overall home/away situation.
I believe, to be true, any scenario where Tech gets screwed. It's the one, consistent thing we can count on.
Gotta remember who put together that NC State deal...
Notice that we are now paying our FCS games the going rate and not the ridiculous amounts our former AD was paying to SWAC schools.

NC State home game moved to 2034 / this will probably never be played
Every stinking time we get a P5 at home we end up dropping it or moving it for a lesser game. Why do we even bother with one-for-ones or two-for-ones with P5 programs if we're never going to bother playing the return games or refuse to prioritize them over crappier games?
Baylor dropped for an AWAY game. MSU moved so we can go to UMASS (UMASS!?!?!?!?). For Kansas, we'd apparently rather just go there every time. NC State moving for an away game (could we really not make the dates work on this? or just play @ LSU in another year?).
We (fans) can accept that it's a lot harder to get a P5 to Ruston than a G5. Sure. I buy that. But then every time we do we act like it's not important. And maybe it's the other school driving this every time, but it sure looks like it's mostly on us. I know P5s have a history of buying out of away games to G5 stadiums (like how we're ending up at Missouri this year to begin with) but we can't complain about that if we're backing out all the time, too.
