That article also shows without a doubt he has no intentions of leaving for anything other maybe a top 25 HC job (not happening), if at all. He is content to be here make his money, play golf, and destroy the program. Not necessarily in that order.

Most of you probably already knew this, but I see that Tim Rattay is QBs' coach at Oklahoma State. I suspect he'll get an OC job somewhere, someday and that will probably be his best fit. I just don't see him being very successful as a head coach, but as an OC, most definitely.
And this little gem, Notre Dame hires Freeman out from under LSU...
Notre Dame Makes Statement Hiring Marcus Freeman Under LSU’s Nose // UHND.com
Interesting.
I don't know if he will ever be a successful HC or not. As you know, almost all head coaches have served as a coordinator. Why don't you think that about him succeeding as a HC?
I don't know of anybody who grew under Holtz and has become a successful HC (he doesn't get to claim Diaz). He's been doing this for 26 years less the years at SC.
Some time down the road, after being a successful OC, Rattay might get a shot as head coach somewhere. If it's a FCS school or a lower-rung FBS school, he might enjoy some success...at least more success than that school is used to and it would be considered a success. But, and it's just a gut feel that he will be happier and thus more successful focusing on developing high-octane offenses and not having to deal with the political crap that head coaches have to handle.
A gut feel...okay.
IMO, Rattay knew he had to get the hell out of Dodge (Ruston) if he wanted enjoy success in the job he has probably dreamed about since he was playing under his Dad. His years of coaching at Tech were a learning experience for him, but it was likely learning how to read the people he works for. Valuable experience.
Anybody still wondering why UT would take a chance on Sark?
RichRod is officially the new OC on the bayou.
