Yeah, I figured, but what has he done to deserve a new program when they still haven't gotten the ones they have straight? Typical EllAye BS.

Yeah, but they don't deserve one. Reward for screwing up...only in Louisiana.

More degree programs for Grambling = more paperwork and places for money to go "missing"

You guys changed the subject in the middle. I had to read the second link to find out you weren't talking about Louisiana College.

I like these references to the "I-20 Technology Corridor". I saw it used in both of these stories. I hope it catches on.

That said, I can't believe LA Tech would let Grambling get the state's first ever Cybersecurity degree program. That's insane. Cybersecurity is a big, big, BIG deal. And it's just going to get even bigger as we move from the "Internet of People" generation (connecting people to the internet) to the "Internet of Things" (IoT) generation, which will focus more on connecting machines to each other, robots, sensors, smart grids, AI, other multiple devices, etc...

A program this important is FAR too valuable to turn over to Grambling State University. LA Tech should be doing this. I'm disappointed. LA Tech may have missed the boat on this one.

All politics. Do you think we have the firepower to say no to Grambling? Maybe we do.

Politics or not, there are some things you just can't afford to screw up like this. These are decisions that can affect an entire generation.

Seems like I recall TECH having the first PhD in Cyber Security in the nation...... Anyone please correct me if needed.... We have huge DHS and DOD Grants and a national leader in that space...... No one in Louisiana is a threat there...... I would expect the Grants to be classified on some level....

LONI, which Dr Guice was instrumental in establishing 10 years ago was one of only three similar setups in the nation ( something like that ). Im not an engineer, but it seems that would be pivotal in running the CS algorythms....... So I think LES would protetect our edge.

Something else, Cyber Security is a good way to retain in N. La. the intellectual capital that we create, unlike mini manufacturing or bio medical engineering, where most trained in that space would leave.

JAMROD I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure. I also remember being named as some kind of significant asset by NSA. I think our only competition might be right here in San Antonio as there is a very large infrastructure dealing with cyber security here.

Y'all write a letter to the editor to TNS, who seems to think Gallot and Grambling are the best thing in North EllAye. Greg Hilburn has been hating on Tech since his days in the sports section.

And say what? Grambling is painted as the scrappy underdog (by TNS, of course) but don't you dare get caught saying anything bad about them.
