And it's a shame because those were two good offensive teams that could of staged a 92-91 masterpiece if the refs would of let them have a flow to the game -
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
It looked like one official in particular was tunnel focused on the good freshman for Gonzaga (32), watching for any picky opportunity to give him a foul. Well, he sat most of the second half and then fouled out early. Maybe that ref had a bet on the game.
Good old Memorial Gym
Yeah, the refs sucked. But it was still lousy basketball. Both teams were guilty of horrible shot-selection. Once UNC launched a fade-away 3 only 8 seconds into the shot clock. Are you kidding me!? And there were 5 or 6 times a 3-point shooter was fouled. Again, R U kiddin' me!? You NEVER foul a 3-point shooter....never!
It was bad basketball, and given that some other team would have enjoyed a "normal" night, there are 100+ teams that could have/would have whipped either one of them last night.
It also reflects on the coaches. Neither coach made an attempt to get a hold of the way their teams were playing. It was 40 mins of pure crap.
Mostly tired legs and piss poor officiating.
The national championship-changing blown call...
It was clearly out of bounds on UNC, but the awful refs called a jump ball to give it to UNC. It should've been Zags ball down 1. Instead, UNC wrongly got the ball and converted the big shot to put UNC up 3 with just a few seconds to play.
The worst part about it was that it was a reviewable call under 2 minutes that should've been corrected by going to the monitor.
The TV guys refused to show it or mention it when everybody was talking about it on twitter.
All of this is exactly why I can't watch basketball, anymore. Just not worthwhile entertainment. Don't want to watch the refs become bigger than the game.
By the numbers...

Sometimes stats can be misleading. Not these. These stats reflect just how pitiful the game was, for both sides.
And, the number of uncalled walking. Sheeesh! Had a former college/NBA player watching the game with us last night (had a little game-watching party). He was like, "Dang! if I coulda gotten away with this much traveling I'd be in the NBA Hall of Fame!"
And every time either side shot a free throw, we would say "Doink!" And we were right a bunch of times.
