    Draft 2017

Seeing a couple of mock drafts showing Dallas taking Deshaun Watson with their 1st round choice. Really? Unless they think after selecting Watson, they can trade him for a bunch of stuff. Or, by saying they plan to draft Watson another team, in need of a QB, will want to trade draft positions with Dallas. But, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. Dallas is sitting at 28th in the order, and the teams behind them have QBs. Teams in need of a QB are ahead of Dallas and can just draft Watson themselves.

OR! these mock drafts are just mockeries!

As for the Saints, all the mock drafts have us going after DEFENSE. Now, that is something I can agree with.

There's no way Watson will be on the board at 28. I think he will go in the top 10, maybe top 5.

The Saints should go defense on each of the first pick. Should they take Brad Kayaa (QB from the U) if he's still available in the second round? They need defense, but they also need to find Brees' successor and it's hard to get Tom Brady-like players in the 6th round. You either take a QB early or not at all.

I think the Saints are trading Cooks to clear the way for drafting Henderson. We might even draft Trent Taylor too, hah!

The more I think about it, the more I think the Saints will take a QB at #32 (the pick they just got from the Pats).

That guy is as impressive a college QB as I've seen in a long time. I think he'll do very well in the NFL too.

Right? Slippery like Romo and Favre, throws from different arm slots like Rich Gannon and Philip Rivers, and has the arm strength of Stafford. I think the Saints are a great fit. Needs to shore up his footwork and decision making, he can do that behind Brees for a couple years.

On a tangent, ESPN laid off their long-time NFL reporter Ed Werder the day before the NFL Draft.

According to the great Wikipedia , yes, Jessie Clark in 1983. I see that he also went to Arkansas, did he graduate from there, or do the Driskel route?

He finished at Arkansas in 1983. He was only at Tech for 1 year (maybe 2) when his mentor Larry Beightol tried to screw us over and was fired. He followed him back to Arkansas. I believe Clark ended up having some success in the NFL with the Packers.

Not sure why that name popped up. That was a dark time for Tech football.
