    DVR/Media PC

Do any of you guys have expirience building one of these??

I just purchased a nice motherboard (Computer Shopper mag recommended it), dual core AM2 processor (NOBODY should own anything other than AMD processors), and 2 GB of KINGSTON (only the best) 800mHz DDR2 ram. I already have a TV card.

    Anything else I need??

    Over-rated.

Plus when I'm recording and burning DVD's of every televised TECH event, it will be well worth it.

As much Hard Drive space as you can afford, a dual tuner TV card, an XBox 360 for use as a media center extender.

I have the dual tuner TV card.

I only have a 250 GB SATA drive for now, but there are 4 SATA connections on the motherboard.

Haven't thought about the XBox... explain more about that to me.

Get an original XBox and use XBMC (google it).

    Best application in the world.

    Re: DVR/Media PC

Got the computer up and running great. I hooked it up and was just messing around playing solitare and started reading BBB. The "sleep" setting kicks in on the DVR computer and puts the TV to sleep. The TV will not turn back on. Unplugging it didn't help either.

Called the customer service and they said that it's frozen. They got a bad batch of VGA inputs a while back. If I would have hooked it up with HDMI instead, they think that it would have been fine. They are replacing my TV.... thank goodness.
