O'Shea Dugas' mother passed away; he was not at the game.
Not. J’Mar is NOT the answer.
Take away long catch and run by Watts, and J’Mar was 10 of 27 for 110 yards.
Time to give Elliot a shot...
We need a new QB ASAP.
It simply is not working with JS at the helm.
I think it is time to try someone other than J'Mar. I was nervous the entire time. Either every Southern Miss defender is a pass defender guru, or J'Mar threw just about every, if not every, pass into tight and double coverage. I'm a little surprised there weren't more picks.
What was the question again?
Apparently it was one of those new math questions where all the answers are right.
That throw was just about intercepted too. We were very lucky more of his throws weren't intercepted. He telegraphed his throws all night. J'Mar is regressing big time. He doesn't know when to run the ball, can not make his reads, telegraphs his throws and is scared of contact. Elliot should get the start against Rice but I know Coach Holtz would never do that. I'm hoping it will eventually start clicking for him but right now I don't have much faith it will.
Smith was being roundly booed last night. Some fans had very nasty things to say too. Several said they won't be back until Smith...and Holtz...are gone.
Has Holtz ever changed QBs mid-season at any of his stops for anything other than injury? We know why J'Mar started against Arkansas and Higgins started the rest of the way, but that was a special circumstance. Holtz seems to be loyal to a starting QB to a fault. I realize Tech lost two NFL receivers off last year's team and passes have two components (passing and receiving), but absence some serious route running snafus on the part of the receivers, many passes thrown last night were not catch-able. Some of the catches that were made were "miracle" catches based on how tight the coverage was. Like many have indicated, I have don't think J'Mar is improving, but is probably going backwards. A little bench time might help him get his mind right.
J'Mar had a bad night. Lots of drops too.
We're banged up at WR.
