I trust HCSH. BTW, this new guy is also suppose to be a pretty good recruiter.
Nothing is changing. Fitch will be following Skips lead. Period. This guy is going to communicate defenses and patterns to Skip down on the field. He'll coach the WR 's in practice. He'll look at film with Skip and develop game plans. I see no evidence whatsoever that he will be worse than Peterson.Originally Posted by inudesu

This tends to be automatic reaction to every hire-- Coach doesn't know what he's doing -- lousy hire -- not impressed etc. guy doesn't deserve to find a job for 20 yrs and whose ever heard of Boston College anyway. One thing most of us know that Coach seems to get great coaches and they move on to higher jobs pretty soon. Diaz got ripped and how did that work out. Peterson same thing, Tim was only person he hired everyone wanted. When I saw hire my immediate reaction was 2 or 3 yrs max. One thing I saw at signing day is that Coach has a really unified staff ( on surface). Lot of us looking for day in future when Tim has experience to take OC
. What an uniformed opinion. He is a legendary recruiter and check out th Boston College articles. He recruited Florida and the list of athletes he brought from warm Florida to cold Boston is impressive. You don't get jobs at Boston College by being sucky. Welcome Coach!! May I recommend googling Coach Fitch before accepting uniformed opinions on him -- man has done spectacular thins. Hung 41 pts on Boise in Hawaii bowl . Broke every record in first yrs as OC at East Carolina-- 52 tds 403 pts . Another yr as OC lead nation in TDs scored in less than 1 minute and 7fh in tds on plays over 25 yrs. took over USF in 2011 and moved them 75 spots from previous year-- #1 improved offense in nation. Man is legendary improving offenses. Please do not take it from me nor the absurd posts on this thread--- Google coach Fitch-- he has accomplish great things and we are pretty damn lucky Coach Holtz got him

Last thing on Coach ( until I see another negative post) . Coach Fitch has 2 of something we BBB folks want. 2 CUSA championship -- 2008-2009. Like Diaz he suffered thru tough year before coming to Tech but his life record is spectacular

As I post this I'm aware that I'm a work in progress and have a long way to go.
In reading comments on the BBB it appears that certain people are mostly negative and constantly complain how incompetent, in their opinion, the AD, and certain others are in just about any decision they make. They complain about new hires (Fitch) without looking at the complete facts (Great info Dogsince65)... almost nothing seems to make them happy. Other posters have commented about the negativity and ask them to not be so negative and even reference how some have quit participating on the BBB because of it. That's a shame. Yet the negativity continues. Good thing recruits don't read the BBB or we may not have any come to Tech. It looks like we signed a really good group of quality young men and athletes despite our supposed overwhelming “flaws” (according to some) and I'm grateful for the hard work so many put in to make it happen.
Sometimes a visual illustration helps open ones eyes. The other day the movie "Hitch" was on and I had to laugh when I saw the scene in this video (see link below). Two of the guys in the clip complain about everything and say everything is "disgusting". Hopefully, this will help give a visual of how it looks when you constantly say how "Disgusting" or wrong things are at the university you love. I hope I realize when I'm negative, the same is true of me too. Btw, I am not saying all comments you make are negative because you bring up many good points/ideas, but it would be nice if the negativity was toned down a bit. Your message is discounted and tuned out by many when it’s delivered with such negativity... how things are said, matters and tone is very hard to relay on a BBB, text or email. Pausing, re-reading and editing before submitting a comment helps. I know, I know, who am I to make these comments? I'm someone that had my eyes opened by a family member. I did not realize how much complaining and negativity came from my mouth. Hearing it was not easy, my pride was bruised but it was accurate. I'm a work in progress and striving to improve. I hope we can all promote the positive aspects of all things Louisiana Tech and provide constructive ideas in a positive, up lifting way when needed.

QB Matt Ryan ring a bell?
Last yr BC was bad on offense. Scored 110'points in first 2 games then QB broke ankle. Troy Flutie took over and was bust ( lost Florida state 14-0) . Played freshman qbs ( based on Wikipedia) rest of year. We have all suffered thru years with developing qbs . BC plays tough schedule and warm up games with Qb before injury averaged 55 pts. I personally think Coach made a smart call getting experience friend.... We won't have a Driskel- Sokol- CC or a KD as far as I can tell next yr-- having experience and long relationship with Coach makes perfect sense to me--- again, they won CUSA titles together....
