She is not going to show up. Her lawyer is controlling her and knows that if she shows up, everyone will see what a nut case she is. Kavanaugh has said he doesn't even know her. The democrats just wanted something they could say about Kavanaugh after he is confirmed. They're already saying she is telling the truth. What is the truth in this case? They consider any lie they put out to be the truth. Anything to further their cause.

after taking a while to think it through, i have come to a conclusion: if the accusation had even a grain of truth to it, kavanaugh's best move would be to go ahead and give his side of the story. we're talking about a sensationalized memory of something that happened between drunk teenagers. he could claim that she made a pass at him, and then made up the story to save face with her friends when he rejected her. the fact that he is claiming no knowledge of the event tells me he is most likely telling the truth.

furthermore, it is obvious that this was not brought up because anyone thinks the accusation is credible. it was brought out when it was for the specific purpose of delaying the confirmation and nothing more. if it were credible, they would have brought it forward as soon as they knew about it. nobody even seems to be trying very hard to pretend otherwise. based on this alone, i think they should move forward with the confirmation. any democrat with a conscience should vote in favor of speedy confirmation here, but we know that won't happen, and there is enough media pressure to make republicans worry about it too.

If this did take place, Kavanaugh will be forever ruined form something that he may have learned and matured from, despite the fact that he never served time. Aren’t we a country that believes that people can learn from their mistakes and become contributing members of society? If there is no evidence found/presented from Ms. Fords camp, then it may hurt other women with legitimate claims of abuse.

i didn't say he should change his story. i'm saying it would have been stupid to deny it completely if it had no truth to it. it's just such an easily refutable story.

An investigation and hearing could clear his name if the accusations are false. Without that, he just has the cloud of accusations to follow him.
