I think you're right. The area of the Florida parishes is too big making the state look squat and fat-like me. It throws off the whole design, imo.

Thats it! The design is thrown off and the state looks squashed up and fat. You have hit the nail on the head my good man. You know I like Derek Dooley just fine. But he ain't the GOD of design or a good judge of it either apparently. And if our LOGO was our biggest issue we needed to solve I'll kiss a bulldog's hind foot. He better win some football games.

I'm not saying it needs to have every little nook and curve that the state has. I just made an observation that the state looks squat and fat. I didn't realize it was harder to duplicate a streamlined state as opposed to a squat fat state. But the fact still remains that the title of the thread asked if we liked it or not. We answered. If the criticizms aren't wanted, then maybe you should suggest to our illustrious photographer not to ask our opinions.

I like it. I would probably drop the concentration of white flecks in the border just a little bit but I think it's cool, despite the shape of the state.

It seems to me the old one has been replicated plenty of times with no difficulty. Just an observation. I don't care what they do but something better than the logo needs to change.

But that wasn't because of the shape of the state but rather the laziness of the administration. If those in charge in the past would have had the initiative to enforce it, it could have been accurately and financially lucratively duplicated. The same thing could happen to this logo if it's not safeguarded.
