We werent doing well. We are not “at the bottom.”
And all they are doing is wishing him well on his way out.
I agree, No we are not at the bottom, Ellis Johnson-USM is the bottom, we will recover.
I think it is the right thing to do, wishing him well, I would rather take the high road.
Coaches don’t get fired for “ not doing well “ at Tech. Maybe you missed our conference implosion a few weeks ago along with the losses piled up by our HC over the last two years. I’ve seen the bottom two other times over the past 40 years in football. We are currently there for the third time. That’s an honest observation, not an opinion or whining.
Ok so, thank you Holtz for the good wins however many there were. Enough said about that now let’s move on to what had better be a great hire to get this program where we all want to be. Being the nice guy loser that everybody wants to schedule for homecoming sucks. I’d much rather be the bad ass winner that everybody respects and wants to play in hopes that it’ll elevate their program.
I’ll be interested to hear how this went down. Who was the driver of this train? Holtz? Woods? Guice?
it was me. I told them that if there wasn't a coaching change NOW I would not cook any more Cajun Rice and bring it to the Tailgate. It sealed the deal. Food always works in the South.
If this hire goes wrong, I think some fans are truly gonna learn what the bottom actually is for a program. Skip had this program very far from it...
You’ve made it very clear from your various posts regarding Holtz that you dwell mostly in the past focusing almost exclusively on the high water marks. The problem is that what you’re see it way back in the rear view. Trends begin in the present and extend into the future. Right now, under Holtz’s the present isn’t good and the future looks bleak. A change was 100% necessary.
Have you watched this team lose? That's bottom. This is his NINTH year as HC and he led us there. No OLine, no QB, no special teams, and a defense weak as a pup that can't tackle hot mush.
You are kidding yourself if you don't believe we are at or near the bottom!
Are you a current student or just haven’t updated your profile? If you are currently enrolled, you are young enough to not know or remember our bleak days in the past and how similar this feels to those times.
The bottom is 0 wins. The bottom is some state admin cancelling the program. The bottom is what happened to Marshall in the 70s.
We are not at the bottom.
I would bet our attendance last Friday was as bad as any of those teams mentioned above.
And had it not been, today's action might not have happened. That was a clear signal of what next year would have looked like, and that couldn't be allowed to happen.
