HAHA! This is HIGHLY suspicious.Appy St finished the 2019 season 13-1, and nationally ranked. They were nationally ranked again 2 weeks ago before Marshall beat 'em by 10 points, 17-7. Now, already sporting a 2-1 record in 2020 (with wins over the Campbell Camels & CUSA darling Charlotte) it looks like Appy has decided to take a break from it's upcoming brutal schedule that includes ULL, GA Southern & Ark State in back-to-back weeks in October. After that, the 5 remaining games on their schedule are cake walks.
This looks very much like the "fix" is/was in. Appy couldn't afford another loss --much less another potential 2 or 3 losses-- this early in the season. COVID is a great excuse to put off a butt whipping.

Not a terrible shock with the Covid situation at all. Some of the other smaller bowls might not make it either depending on local conditions.
Bobby Bowden now has covid, although at 90 years old seems to be doing well with it.
