Trump knows what nationalism means, and if he didn’t the first time he promoted, people clued him in. Did he condemn those that hold troubling views. No - he doubled down again and again.

In the context of what Hill said - his remarks during a Wednesday meeting of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People in observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. He accused the Israeli government of “normalizing settler colonialism" and called for a "free Palestine from the river to the sea," a remark that got applause from participating diplomats.

He didn’t explicitly say “wipe Israel from the map” but he knew his audience - just like Trump knows his. It is all about signaling support for causes while avoiding accountability for what you say. It is dangerous if you don’t hold people accountable in these cases.

Just to be clear - He asked about immigrants in general and not asylees. That is why your list is different than mine. Mine includes asylees and all types of visas.

Because we can't and shouldn't offer amnesty, a path to citizenship, permanent residence status etc. if we can't reasonably control the influx of illegal immigrants. At best the number of illegal immigrants that cross the border each year account for 34% of the total new illegal immigrants to the US. That's not nothing and because of the nature of border crossings and their status, getting an accurate representation of the illegal immigrant population is almost impossible. If you offer any resolution to our illegal immigration problems, you are encouraging people to cross the border illegally and that makes no sense.

Even if it is not our biggest immigration issue, the southern border should still be walled up. It represents a sign of weakness to the rest of the world, IMO. We have to show that we are willing to fully protect our border as well as all legal ports of entry.
