Yes, I'd love TV partners all around...just lagb.

We/C-USA must solidify contact with Shreveport, Monroe/El Dorado, Alexandria TV markets (so many digital channels are available) for football and basketball, while at the same time targeting those markets for games played in Ruston. If folks can attend, they will attend. Yes online streaming is great. "Owning" a market is so important, too.

For those like me who had to google some terms:

Over-the-top content (OTT) is a term used in broadcasting and technology business reporting to refer to audio, video, and other media transmitted via the Internet without an operator of multiple cable or direct-broadcast satellite television systems (so-called multiple-system operators) controlling or distributing the content.

Good for Sinclair. Their distribution and production were not where they should have been. And rather than muddle along with small and short-term fixes they actually did something dramatic about it.

My understanding is that it is an ASN-CampusInsiders merger, meaning they'll leverage the assets of both (plus whatever 120 Sports is).

I think the reality is the 6 Campus Insiders games will also be televised on ASN's TV stations, and ASN's 15 TV games will also be streamed online. Produced and rebranded under one umbrella. And I doubt they produce any more games than ASN and CampusInsiders were previously contracted for.

I think this is good news that will improve access for some of the lower profile games, but I don't think this is any kind of revolution ditching TV for twitter streaming like that article suggests.

In addition to the CBSSN (6 games) and ESPN (6 games) games already selected, beIN Sports (10 games) and ESPN3 (10 games) still have to make their selections.

We also have to keep in mind C-USA has not issued a press release explaining exactly what will happen. We are speculating based on bits and pieces of info.

Correct. Sinclair isn't giving up the over-the-air distribution network they've built. From the press release last month:

The existing linear network operated by ASN will be rebranded and improved. The broadcast component of the new, unified network, upon its launch scheduled for later this year, immediately will reach millions of homes on Sinclair-owned multicast channels, both over-the-air and in turn through carriage by multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs).

I agree with you regarding the 21 combined games being both televised and streamed. What I'm not sure about is additional games - both football and basketball.

I think it will depend on how many additional conferences besides CUSA the new entity will partner with before September. Do they even have management in place right now to work on those types of deals? Will any new deal with a conference be in place by September? Nobody really knows.

What I think is likely is that, at a minimum, they'll sublease content from ESPN. The SunBelt is a good place to start. Just like last season they can move Sun Belt games they sublease from ESPN into afternoon slots that CUSA schools aren't interested in.

UL-Lafayette has a home game against Southeastern on 9/2 and another against 9/23 against ULM. ASN has an affiliate in Lafayette and others around the state. I could see them subleasing those games and moving them to afternoon slots. ASN would have until early August to get that done. No contract with the conference needed.

Twitter has a new Roku Channel available. 120 Sports was on their - which I believe will become STADIUM
