Yep, the Stros have been tanking, trading away what little talent we had for picks (Pence trade for example), and the Stros have a lot of talent in the farm system from teh last few years. A far cry from the teams just after the WS run, which were both awful and deplete of farm talent. This team could be good in 3 years with some improving years in between....of course, it is hard to not improve on 51 wins, haha. But, the blow up and rebuild process is much longer in baseball where 1) players dont play immediately, and 2) 1 player cannot affect the game like in basketball or football (QB specific).

How gay is it getting with everyone hating on the Dodgers? I dont like them either, but how big of a stick is up the baseball analyst's ass about Puig and co.? It is too funny. All of these guys love to talk about the unwritten rules and the way the game should be played, yada, yada, yada. All of that type of talk is what makes baseball so boring and why it is so unpopular with the younger crowd.

The young generation is choosing both...hard to believe that MLB will be as unpopular as the NHL in 20 years. So many reasons for this, though, it is too long and boring. Plus, you have all these old curmudgeons on how the game should be played and wax poetic about how the game was so great. Sorry, I fell asleep just talking about baseball.

Don't look now, but the 'Stros are 1-0, and in the division lead...AGAIN.

Here is my prediction: The Astros might be worse this year than they were last year, but they hired Nolan Ryan, which is good. By July , Nolan will be disgusted with what he sees, will become vocal about it, and the Astros will make Nolan the GM. Then he will start building a real roster.
