According to the CDC, people age 65 and older make up over 80% of all Coronavirus deaths in the U.S. In fact, as the graph in the story below shows, deaths from Coronavirus are almost non-existent for people under the age of 35. Just the facts....

That same story has another graph that demonstrates that the risk of dying from Coronavirus is EXACTLY the same as the risk of dying from Influenza for a person in the 25-34 year old age bracket. Furthermore, people in the age brackets under age 25 have a GREATER chance of dying from Influenza than they do of dying from Coronavirus.
Since 90% of college football players fit into the under 25 age bracket, this means college athletes --as an age group-- are more likely to die from Influenza than Coronavirus. So it's accurate to state that --for this age group-- the death rate for Coronavirus and Influenza victims are relatively equivalent.
