Sounds exciting, I've never been able witness a bear in the wild yet (and I live near the Appalachians)! I should plan a trip to Alaska I guess

Go to the Smokies. I have experienced all kinds of bears there. First time I was 7 and there was a bear getting into the trash can at the Chimney Tops picnic area. That was a too-close encounter!

Was in the Adirondacks a few years ago...and whoa! Talk about a close encounter. Momma bear got a bit upset protecting her cubs. I got some really good wildlife photos (and some real close-ups) of that incident. Of course, took some explaining back at the Enterprise Rental Car place....

Cal Bears? Yep, had one raid our camp when we were hiking the high country in Yosemite. All it did was rip open a back pack and steal granola bars.

Both teams have been paid a lot of money for the game and a crowd of over 63,000 is expected.

You were right on target-- over 61k. Funny shots of rugby team at game at a couple of guys were asleep. Beautiful sunny day and dozing off is ok. Cal actually had player on team who lives in Sydney. Announcers were NOT at game ... goofy when they do that..

Great experience for both teams. Cal has next week off and Hawaii plays at Ann Arbor. As for the announcers not being at the game, many of the Olympic events that were broadcast were remotely announced.

You don't really have to have announcers at the game when your primary responsibility for the evening is to promote next weekend's ESPN/ABC college football lineup.

That's a great question. i read homosexuality was decriminalized as late as 1989 in parts of Australia, so I'm sure there's a lot of "pride" in the country now. It also hits the tourist-y check mark like most really gay places
