Well...just read a blog by someone IN THE KNOW, and I reiterate, it is time to get out of Iraq. Save for supporting the Kurds, assuring the free flow of oil from the Arab nations, and the free use of the Suez Canal. I will refer to these as my "Must Three." On all three our western allies should join us, but they will probably not care too much for the Kurds.

If we do assure the Must Three, then abandoning Iraq will allow the return of ISIS and they are a bigger concern for Iran than for us or any of our traditional allies. ISIS is Suuni, Iran is Shiite.

Re: Comments on the POTUS killing a Terrorist?

    On a historic note...

In a way, in the big geopolitical picture, the Kurds are kind of like Ho Chi Minh's Vietnamese in the immediate aftermath of WWII. "Ho" as he was referred to, wanted to ally with the US. He had been educated in the west, I think in the US (have to look that up), and practically begged President Truman to support him and his independence movement. Truman was not against it, but eventually backed away for two reasons: 1) Ho would not denounce communism, and 2) our allies, namely Britain, wanted us to support the French as they sought to regain their international prestige. French leader Charles de Gaulle made it clear to Truman he intended to reestablish the French colony of Indochina and that meant squashing all independence movements. Truman asked Ho to back off, but he wouldn't, and thus the US effectively remained neutral in the coming war. There were American mercenaries, mostly pilots and combat specialists, who served with the French Foreign Legion, but nothing official by us.

The war that lasted from 1946 - 1954 was brutal. Ho's forces, commanded by General Giap, suffered enormous losses...as did the French's side. Out of 550,000 soldiers Giap's army, known as the Viet Minh, lost 440,000 men, just about all KIA. The French, and their tribal allies...mountain folks who rejected the Ho government proposal....had 385,000 soldiers, and lost 185,000. The Viet Minh ceased to exist as a viable fighting force. The French won every battle...except one, but lost the war. The one loss at Dien Pien Phu was a bad loss for the French and finally soured the French public on the war.

Now, how is all of this similiar to the state of the Kurds today?

Ho told Truman, and our allies, his version of communism would not tie him to either China or the Soviet Union. In fact, he did not like the Chinese nor the Soviets and preferred to have western allies and friends. Vietnamese are fiercely independent and reject all foreign intervention in their country. Unfortunately for those mountain tribes Ho did not extend his benevolence to their independence. Many of those tribal leaders were murdered when the French withdrew from Indochina.

The Kurds are Muslims. They do not agree with our western lifestyle and culture, but want to be allies and coexist peacefully. First the French, then the US, made a mistake not recognizing the Ho Chi Minh government as being different than what we assumed...i.e. allies of the Chicoms and Soviets. Our policy makers painted with a broad brush: all commies are the same. Ho only accepted aid from China and from the Soviets because he had no choice. He needed modern military weapons to stand a chance against the US. So, here we are, at a crossroads. Do we repeat the mistake made in the late 1950's by lumping the Kurds in with all "Iraqi Muslims," or do we recognize there is a difference?

Truman fumbled the ball, and then Kennedy and Johnson doubled down on the mistake escalating our war with a "communist" regime that actually wanted to be our friend and ally. The Kurds will defend themselves and they will abandon any ties to the US if we treat them as we treated Ho's regime.

I hope I've done an adequate job explaining the historic similarity.

I want to make sure I am looking at the right one. There is a fake one floating around that splices together two clips to make a misleading representation.

What you guys keep forgetting (with the help of the administrations propaganda machine) is that Shokin was being forced out because he wasn’t prosecuting persecution, including Burisma.

There's a YouTube video calling out SNOPES and the other so-called "fact checkers." Not surprising they are all just another cog in the dem-commie machine. The video is about 20 mins and highlights about a dozen specific examples.

Yes, I am familiar with it. But everyone agreed Shokin needed to go because he was corrupt and wouldn’t prosecute corruption. The US and IMF wanted him gone precisely because he would not pursue corruption cases such as the case against Burisma.

After the U.K. request, Ukrainian prosecutors opened their own case, accusing Zlochevsky of embezzling public funds. Burisma and Zlochevsky have denied the allegations.

The case against Zlochevsky and his Burisma Holdings was assigned to Shokin, then a deputy prosecutor. But Shokin and others weren’t pursuing it, according to the internal reports from the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office reviewed by Bloomberg.

In a December 2014 letter, U.S. officials warned Ukrainian prosecutors of negative consequences for Ukraine over its failure to assist the U.K., which had seized Zlochevsky’s assets, according to the documents.

Then why did you ask? You set up your weak ass reply that you learned from your leftist sources, but it didn't work.

    Biden is corrupt! Proven...

Warren claimed to be an Indian (feather)! Proven...

You can't make those statements go away by not playing them on drive by media.

Ok, I'm going to have some fun with you here.

With the Biden's crooked involvement with the crooked Ukrainian, the IMF and UK knew it was destined for public and real disaster; not realizing Obama, and probably Hillary as well, would cover for the Biden's and the Biden's for Obama. Especially as bad as Obama/Biden and Hillary had screwed up the Russian restart/Libya/Benghazi/Hillary's server getting hacked/DNC getting hacked/ISIS and Iran the higher ups in the political and financial worlds had to eventually recognize they were all covering for each other.
And an idiot like Hunter Biden (Jethro Bodine) involved with Ukraine elites, which are tied to the Russians, could have exploded the entire cover. Not to mention the crooked Biden's and China.

I'll let you sleep with your tin foil hat while I do the same. But you never know.
