Did Xavier Woods get benched or was he injured against the Eagles? I didn't notice him playing at all.
    Have you considered those Dogs?

Even before Bradshaw was the 2 way Tech player Tom Hinton from the early to mid 50s who was a Ruston native with many college and pro accolades including eventually being inducted into the Tech Hall of Fame, Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, British Columbia Hall of Fame, The British Columbia Lions Hall of Fame and The CFL Hall of Fame.

Doug Evans would rank ahead of Tramon.

If I were head coach, or even the OC, at Tech I would take a young, as in freshman Matt Dunigan, in a heartbeat. Even more so today, than 40 years ago, Dunigan is absolutely built to be successful in today's wide-open offense college football. It's one of the reasons he excelled in the CFL, due to its more high-octane offenses. A Matt Dunigan in 2021 would lift Tech back to, and beyond, the offenses we saw from 1997-1999 and again in 2016.

Find us a Dunigan clone...and then turn him loose!

Dunnigan would have never made the field with Holtz as his coach.

Now, now...we don't know that. Skippy did do a good job with Sokol and Driskel, and he was the one who believed in Higgins for 2016 and was right about that. So! Maybe...

Exactly right! Pair OC with QB coach and you’d have the best offensive minded program going. Shortly after that success Dunigan could slide easily in HC and we’d be all in the top 25. Come on Tech get the big picture right for once. Make the call.

They are out there, D80. On very rare occasions, a player --regardless of size or measurements-- will come along that simply changes everything. Remember UNT QB Mason Fine? He was "that guy" for UNT. Many UNT fans will tell you that he was the best UNT player to come along in the last 30 years, maybe more. And just like Matt Dunigan, Mason Fine was only 5'11, but he could run like a rabbit and throw it very deep. He was very exciting. Fine's on the field running and passing injected an energy into the UNT fan base that UNT had never seen before. His energy sold tickets, won games and made it fun for fans to go to UNT games again.

IMO, that's the kind of player Matt Dunigan was. Unfortunately, that's also the kind of guy that probably never gets a shot as long as Skip Holtz is around.

One of the best all around athletes I’ve ever seen in Ruston was Dennis Morris, although he never lived up to his potential. He was a 260+ lb dude that was fast, and could pancake a DE or burn a safety. I would have loved to see him play in an era with some of our better offenses.
Eric Shaw was another one. He would literally rip your head off of your shoulders.
