At 11 am?
Sounds logical for CUAB!
I hope we trample UAB into the ground. I don't like UNT, but I detest UAB.
If the Dawgs aren't ready to rip the Blazers a new one....nothing will get them fired up. Ironic we won tonight like we lost last year to....dem guys.
West CONF OVR Louisiana Tech 1-0 3-1 UAB 1-0 3-1 Southern Mississippi 1-0 2-2 UTSA 1-0 2-3 North Texas 0-1 4-1 Rice 0-1 1-4 UTEP 0-1 0-5
I want to beat UAB's azzz! LA Tech was repeatedly cheated at Legion Field last year. Here's just one (1) example:
That game was still the only time I've ever seen a football team receive a 15-yd "unsportsmanlike" conduct dead ball foul penalty because our WR (McKnight) stood up and made the 1st down signal (pointed 1st down) after making a tremendous catch and achieving the 1st down deep in UAB territory. That single penalty changed everything. LA Tech went from having a 1st down and 10 around UAB's 25 or 30 yd-line to suddenly replaying 3rd down and 25 (with penalty) or so. It killed our drive and any chances we had of scoring on that drive.
Before last year's game against UAB, I had seen at least 100 players make that same 1st down signal after a 1st down catch, without penalty. And since that game, I've see it about 50 more times, without penalty. Those referees in Birmingham literally cheated us, and I WANT PAYBACK.
Our D better learn to tackle against UAB........their RB could go for 200
Happened to us in Lafayette in 1999, that 41-31 win over the Cajuns and their homespun, Boudreaux! refs. James Jordan had been held, interfered with, tackled! all night. With the game still very much in doubt, early 4th qtr, Jordan made a great catch even with a USL defender practically undressing him. Out of frustration he stood up, ball in hand, and pointed the "first down" motion. Flags!!! Bicknell went ballistic too, and he got tagged for another "unsportsmanlike" penalty. 30 yards just like that! But, it resulted in a 1st and 10, so we just drove the ball downfield and scored a TD anyway. That night we were flagged 19 times for over 200 yards in penalties. At the time someone in the media, maybe the Shreveport Times did some research to see if that was some kind of record. It wasn't. In fact it put us 3rd on the all-time list, behind Oklahoma, 2nd, and Grambling State, 1st! Since then, and that's been 20 years, we have been pushed further down that list.
