This is the ARCA Series which is complete separate from NASCAR although the cars are similar.

I seem to remember one team doing a paint scheme for the college football national champion for one race the last few years. I'm not sure about the ARCA Series, but I definitely don't remember a college or university sponsoring a race car team in any of NASCAR's top three series (Winston Cup/Sprint Cup, BUSCH/Nationwide Series, Truck Series).

It's happened quite regularly

Sterlin Marlin - an AVID Tennessee VOL fan and two time Daytona 500 winner used to run a VOLUNTEER car at Bristol on an annual basis

The Alabama Gang - most notably Davey Allison & Bobby Allison would run a BAMA car at Dega on numerous occasions

There have been cars for Auburn, UNC, and Virginia Tech also
