In the event of cancer where the mother receives treatment and as a result the baby dies, I don’t even think of that as abortion(murder). In the case of rape, I might be willing to concede abortion if you also agree that the rapist deserves to die. In any other situation, the woman had made her choice. I don’t think Roe will ever be completely overturned, even if I don’t agree with it. However, I do expect some cot drink back toward logic as I described.

Yeah, someone knows, but since they are also involved in the illegal drug trade they are not likely to report it. But, if they get busted selling drugs, they go to jail. Ditto with a pregnant woman. Someone knows she's pregnant. Might be a doctor who says, Hey! congrats! or a spouse or boyfriend or a friend or family member, and of course SHE KNOWS. If she then chooses to murder her baby, and she gets caught, she and anyone who covered for her, participated in the murder, will all be charged with 1st degree capital murder, which brings the chair in Texas.

Does this mean no one will ever murder their baby? Of course not! anymore than the threat of a life sentence or the chair deters some from committing murder, or doing other serious crimes. But, it would place "abortion" where it belongs, right along side those thugs who kill someone for fun or for a little money. And mostly, it would cleanse our society from enabling such a heinous crime. No longer would we tolerate murdering babies. But, no, that wouldn't stop some from doing it.
And how is the government going to prove she had an abortion?

For that matter, someone could carry a child to full term, have the baby at home, then kill it and bury it in their backyard or throw it in the river. How is the government going to prove that?

Over 33% of murders never result in an arrest, much less a conviction. Heck, New Orleans only solved 15% of the murders there in 2012. Should we just accept that and make it legal as well?

Gotta get back to those two parent families and societal norms that encourage work and value life.

It needs to be abolished period! Except for when the mother's physical life (not psychologically) is truly threatened; using very strict guidelines and rules.

In some cases, they won't. People get away with murder all the time. Just as people get away with other crimes, like selling drugs. Unfortunately, that's life. But, I bet that most abortions will be done by illegal "clinics" and eventually, no matter how careful they are, law enforcement will get a tip, and/or they'll send in an undercover agent posing as a woman seeking an abortion. Maybe in exchange for a lighter sentence the clinic personnel will sing like jaybirds and help law enforcement track down and arrest the women who paid to have their babies slaughtered. Or...maybe it'll be an all-cash business and the women will mostly get away with it. At least the clinic personnel will all fry in the electric chair.

People are dying from the opioid epidemic right now, by the hundreds/thousands even! Some of these drug dealers are being caught and punished, but some are not. So, since we're not 100% successful does that mean we should stop trying to interdict this illegal drug trade? Ditto with the abortion enforcement effort. I know it won't be 100% successful. But, we have to try. At least get the nation, as a whole, on the right side of this moral question.

    Brett Kavanaugh

Based on what I know, so far, I think he'll make a good SC Justice. I suspect if he even as much has accidently stepped on a cat's tails, years ago, we'll learn of it, and George Soros will finance PETA to protest him for his "cruelty to animals." Rest assured the anti-Americans will turn over every stone.

I wanted Amy Barrett so the liberal and socialist left would show it's hypocritical self with their usual "war on women". Plus she would have been great as well.

    Re: Anthony Kennedy Retires

Judge N. just mentioned some reasons the "right" should be concerned about Kavanaugh. He's a "swamper" with deep ties to the Bush family dynasty. He was the local prosecutor in DC when Vince Foster was murdered and his body drug and dumped in that park...to cover for the Klintons...and Kavanaugh said "nothing to see here." From his position on the DC Appellate Court he allowed obummercare to go forward as a "tax." And you Libertarians have even more reasons to oppose him, and Rand Paul probably will.

From the other side, he is Pro Life, and generally opposes "big government" despite that obummercare ruling. He is said to be a "strict Constitutionalist," which is very good. And, Newt Gingrich has endorsed him as a nominee, so he has that going for him.

Like everything else in life, there are no perfect picks. Judge N. made the point there are aspects of Kavanaugh's judicial past that both sides can like, and both sides can dislike. Comes down to the preponderance of the evidence.

I think this pick was a direct dare to red state Dems. They are going to be very hard pressed to vote against him.

    It was a smart play.

It was a smart play as far as getting a nominee approved, but I think we're getting a carbon copy of Kennedy who'll side with liberals on 30-40% of the issues.
