They just need one more bullet point on that job description:

    - Phase out the ugly logo for the good logo as quickly as possible.

Amen! I can’t imagine having the State T, one of the most easily recognizable logos among all colleges, and they let some idiot practically eliminate it.

The thinking that got us a separate logo for athletics = the thinking that got us the red T and new tailgating rules for football

It's not broken so let's fix it!

They're only using the regular State T on the job posting. Such a great logo.

I always though the athletic logo was an additional "alternate" logo added to our portfolio of university graphics. I thought it was to be used along with the official State-T (Primary). It's like athletics abandon the official logo.

I don't like the divide between which logo is used. How Tech is using it...

I can drive around a 100-mile radius of Lincoln Parish and check out all the Dick's, Academy Sports, Brookshire's, etc. to make sure our brand is getting out there.

Once you explain to the managers that after elessewe and the saints, there are more Tech gear buyers out there than any other state "brand". The Academy in West Monroe stocks up equally on Tech gear and nlulm gear (just different colors) and by Black Friday the Tech gear is gone . . . and the nlulm is reduced to clearance pricing.

(And yeah, I'd encourage them to slip in red football season apparel with the white state-T.)

Other than that it's a "do what the AD says to do" type job to make LATech Sports Properties happy.

Is this a new position? If not who was the previous position holder?

PS-Are they gonna add any help in the media relations department? When Malcolm enters pre-game mode at home games on radio, he'll not be there to meet and greet. . . the most important part of the lead SID position.

Master's degree with 3+ years experience preferred, 3 direct reports, serve on the executive board of the AD, work extended hours outside of a normal business schedule, and only make $45-55k??? No thanks.

Again, branding for a G5 is determined by retail market dominance on apparel.

If supporters and fans are not buying, then improving your brand is a tough sell. (think, the five fans at nlulm).

The problem at Tech is the vendors that create our stuff does a horrible job with design, therefore no one will buy this crap. I'm not sure what is at the locals stores in north Louisiana, I hope it's better than this. The amazon shop for Tech is a complete failure from the start.

Example from the Louisiana Tech | Amazon shop

What the hell is this red/white/blue camo with a "LA TECH". That isn't an approved wordmark of ours.
Blue letters with red outline on a charcoal color shirt?
Red screen print on a blue shirt, it's not easy on the eyes.
Most of the below you barely can see the texts, not enough contrast.

Why would anybody do that? If that is a person's goal, they're over-educated and lack ambition.

We are usually the training ground for up and comers for much less than this advertised salary which is about what a teacher would make with a masters.

Sounds like Dr. Wood is looking for somebody other than a trainee, but limited on what he can pay them.
