Refuting what the ULM fan is saying, I wouldn't consider having only 9 first downs against a team with 8 new defensive starters a moral victory. They averaged about 1.5 yards a carry. We(OU) have a very young team with most of the D starting for the first time and a RS(FR) QB getting his first start. It took awhile to get things going (bad passes and drops) but the game wasn't as close as the score board says...and that's saying something. We do have one of the best programs in the country but the team this year is very raw though there is potential. I'd say we're top 20 but not one of the best teams in the country.
Well....one of the Indy Bowl participants managed to avert being shut out, barely .
Truth is, (whether you feel the strategy is right or wrong) Sonny left with our Offensive cupboard pretty empty. And like the Grinch that stole Christmas, he came after our coaches as if they were the last can of Who Hash...we KNEW our team was going to be "different" --- ULM, this season, is pretty much in the same situation we were in last year...senior-laden, good talent---particularly Kolton Browning---and they scored NADA. ZILCH. ZIPPO. I don't care how you think you can rank the "losers"... Y'all should have at least been able to score SOMETHING. I don't mind fans of other schools participating on our board if they have something of value to add to the discussion...but you don't. Instead of coming on here giving us grief for being pretty much where most of thought we'd be, why not join the discussion on your OWN fan board to figure out what's wrong. Sounds like y'all got some stuff to fix, Mel. I'm sure they'd love your input.
Before Saturday, LaMon had, get ready...200 yards or more in 23 straight games. Now thats something to hang your hat on.
According to Phil Steele, Gonzaga-Monroe had the fewest total yards gained of all FBS teams in Week 1.
In addition, Gonzaga-Monroe and UMass were the only FBS teams to get shutout in Week 1.
Am I the only one who wonders what color the sky is in Mel's world???
A-typical tiggerhawk fan, I had to block several on my Facebook news feed, because all morning was NLU drab then it was puke and purple nonsense after that. How can you troll another fans board masquerading as a fan when he is at most a bandwagon fan who will put his lone NLU shirt, he got for accepting a free ticket to the Baylor game last year, in a goodwill chute to make room for more LSU perphinalia. Please stop feeding the trolls as they have no life other than trying to rile up fans of the school they wish they could have attended.
