Notice how each one of them is very careful when talking about the top AAC teams. They all break down a lot of film, so they know exactly what UCF, USF, and Memphis look like. But none of them ever talk about exactly where those schools should be ranked.

The only clue as to how the ESPN crowd really feels is something said on ESPN radio that I happened to hear a few weeks ago. Another analyst who watches film day and night, I believe it was Brad Edwards, said that those three AAC schools were playing at a top 15 level and that UCF was a top 10 team.

You won't hear that said on any of their TV airwaves.

Actually they were talking about the poor rating (14th) of UCF or USF (whichever one of those Fla. schools that's undefeated) and that brought up the probability of no G5 team ever making the play off no matter how good they are.

And, as great as the MBB NCAA tournament is, they feel the same about that playoff.

They were commenting about the Committee's ranking of UCF being outside the top 10, but they never talked about how they personally felt UCF should actually should be ranked. Are they ranked where they should be, or should they be in the Top 10? The ESPN analysts have been careful to stay away from that discussion all season.

Looking like UCF deserves the ranking they got. Memphis is going to beat them if they don’t tighten up.
