Seven walks by the pitching staff was a killer.
Netterville is a strike out machine.
Consistently inconsistent.
Burroughs = Holtz
Both mediocre.
What’s become altogether too commonplace for Tech lately, an inept under accomplishing choke ridden performance of guys not getting the job done. It’s just downright sad how poorly this team performs under pressure. Tech loses 5-4 with bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth with our last two batters striking out. Ouch!!!
4 & 5 hole hitters both K with bases loaded. Good teams are good not because they execute situationally on a consistent basis
Goff’s regional team was no more talented that current group but his team executed when it counted.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
The Louisiana Tech baseball team put together a late rally in the bottom of the ninth, but came up just short, as WKU held on for a 5-4 Friday night win in the opening game of a three-game weekend Conference USA series from Ruston High School Baseball Field.

I guess after you get beat at home again, embarrass yourself with big moment whiffs and then get harassed because of it all, all you can do is push and shove a little bit. Tech repeats being faced with these inspirational moments to again snap out of their poor play funk so we’ll see what comes of this one. If you can’t get up for a team that essentially shames you on your home field turf and beat their collective asses the next 2 straight then the shaming belongs right where it is.
Our coach skipped another post game interview.
Double header tomorrow?
I blame the WKU pitcher https://twitter.com/ChrisDemirdjian/status/1127049330173652993
Steele hit the catcher with his backswing (it happens) - the catcher goes down in pain - steele is walking off without even noticing - then the WKU pitcher starts yelling at him.

The best I know Netterville is our only batter who hits catchers. I’ve seen him do it several times. I haven’t seen anybody else do it once. Perhaps it speaks to a flaw in his technique. I have a feeling that if you hit the ball you won’t be hitting the catcher.
As slim as Tech’s chances are to win both games of a doubleheader I think they needed a day off to get their head’s right. I hate to say that I don’t really have much hope of that but after the bottom of the ninth choke last night they need something.
