I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, our pitching and hitting hasn’t improved all year long. In fact in some regards it’s gotten worse. Because of that, the coaches responsible for those elements of Tech’s play shouldn’t be here next year. If we’re going to have a new stadium, essentially a new team of players we might as well go with a new group of coaches. Let’s just start fresh all the way around.
How the girls team responded to the disaster of losing their stadium vs the boys team, is very telling. Congrats to the 2019 CUSA Softball Season and Tournament Champs. Hoping Coach Montgomery will stay in Ruston to oversee the rebuilding of their stadium. Have known him since his days of taking Centenary teams to the NCAA Softball Tournaments. We are Blessed to have him.
Netterville was ejected postgame for fighting, and that is an automatic 4-game suspension. Same for the WKU pitcher who was supposed to start today's game.
Based on that I think WK suffers more. As much as I like Netterville and want him to succeed maybe the best thing for him would be to sit and think and work on his hitting for a week. I don’t quite understand why Burroughs hasn’t done something to alter all this striking out stuff already.
The kid is obviously very talented but he’s not hitting with much confidence right now. Strikes out way to easily which has just snowballed as the years has progressed. Him being out doesn’t really hurt our offensive production. Maybe he’ll come back just in time to go on a tare at the tourney
DH tomorrow at 11am (two 7-inning Games)
Can turn it all around today with two wins and clinching a cusa tourney berth! Let’s go dawgs!
After 4, Tech leads WKU 4-1.
In bottom of 5th, Tech gets two 2-run homers to go ahead 8-2.
