It's officially official...we are now the @walk_onsIndependence Bowl! And we are quite excited about it!

Think it will be more than the $550K Camping World offered? I don't.
Tim Fletcher @FletcherShow 2 minutes ago Walk-On’s Independence Bowl is official... guaranteed 3-year deal (lasts entirety of remaining ESPN contract with @IndyBowl)
So 3 years will get them through the current contracts with the SEC and ACC when most bowls are up for negotiations for new contracts beginning in 2020. Besides the financial sponsorship terms, the big question is "can the Indy Bowl survive 3 more years with ACC/SEC to negotiate smaller payouts to G5 conferences?"
The Indy Bowl is currently in about $1 million of debt, right?
My guess is somewhere in the neighborhood of $300,000 annually in cash and $300,000 in IN-KIND sponsorships...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
No Q&A at the press conference. Wow.
They sure have a lot of firepower in this video. Lots of big names associated with Walk-On's. They've got Drew Brees, Dale Brown, Scott Van Pelt, Todd Graves (CEO of Raisin Canes), Notre Dame's Rudy Ruettiger, etc....doing PR for 'em.

Walk ons coming to west Monroe soon
Media were allowed to ask questions 1-on-1 after the announcement.
Every media outlet praised the deal as "perfect," "win-win," or "ideal" just like they did for the Duck Commander announcement, but not a single media outlet asked about the financial guarantee... Ya know, kinda the big story when Camping World pulled out.
