Baylor up 5-1 as we head to 7th
So far this game has the stink of a lax effort to complete the weekend with a sweep. There’s no way we should lose to Baylor.
Bases loaded and no outs in the B7...
Bull pen pitching stinks!
Baylor Bears knock off the Diamond Dawgs 6-1 in final game of the Frisco Classic!
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
The Louisiana Tech baseball team wrapped up its weekend in the Lone Star state with a 6-1 defeat to the Baylor Bears, on a rainy Sunday afternoon from Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Tech finished the weekend with a 2-1 record, claiming the Frisco Championship title, with wins over No. 9 Texas A&M and Cal.

Pen is going to be the reason we struggle this season. Hard to expect your starter to go 6+ every outing and your offense to hang 5 or 6 runs per game. Still proud of the results from the weekend.
I didn't think so. I thought we came out strong but were a little unlucky. We opened the game with 2 solid hits. Then drew a walk to load the bases. Then Bates crushed a line drive that I thought would score two runs at the crack of the bat, but it was right at their SS to end the inning. Three feet in either direction, Tech would've struck first with at least 2 runs in the 1st. We were hammering their starter and had him on the ropes early, but we let him escape relatively unscathed. We gave away too many outs with a couple guys getting picked off (just like every game) and failed sac bunts (just like every game). Then we couldn't get a clutch hit with RISP. We were stranding our runners every inning. On the other hand, Baylor had no base runners the first half of the game. Bailey was pretty dominant. Before our collapse, we had 7 hits to their 1 but were only ahead 1-0.
Disagree. I think our bullpen will be fine. I think it's stronger than last year. Our defense gave Baylor 3 runs on 3 errors in the 5th, and Baylor only scored 3 runs off our bullpen after that. It wasn't that bad. There's is no reason we shouldn't score at least 5/6 runs off Sunday pitching.
I'm much more concerned about our bad bunts and bad base running. Those two things drive me nuts watching us play! After that, hitting. Then defense. Pitching is the very least of my concerns about this team.
