he impeachment whistleblower's concern about President Trump's discussion of Hunter Biden in the July phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky may have had something to do with his hosting of a meeting at the White House in which Ukrainian officials were told to drop an investigation into the former vice president's son, according to investigative reporter John Solomon.
Why does it matter who the whistleblower is? They aren’t offering any evidence one way or another in this impeachment hearing.
The whistleblower could be Obama or Hillary, and it still wouldn’t matter.
What matters is that we have a president that is conducting foreign policy not to advance US foreign policy objectives but to advance his 2020 campaign. What he wanted was an ANNOUNCEMENT from Ukraine that they were investigating Biden.
The announcement would give him political ammo. Why else would he be asking for an announcement?
He delayed the aid for months clearly hoping to get the statement he wanted.
The important issue now is - have we reached the point in American history where we are going to say that currying campaign favors for foreign officials is just a perk of the job of being POTUS?
Because if Trump is not impeached, at this point, Congress has essentially granted this permission to Trump and all future presidents, Democrats, Republicans and Socialists alike to ask for campaign assistance from foreign officials.
If you can’t see what impact this has on our ability to maintain a true democratic republic, please reconsider and imagine this happening with Obama or Hillary as president.

The non-profit also collaborated with the FBI agents investigating one-time Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort's business activities with pro-Russian figures in Ukraine.
Investigative reporter John Solomon recalled on Thursday the story he first reported in March because it sheds light on what he terms "the real Ukraine controversy," the alleged meddling by the Obama State Department in the affairs of a sovereign nation, contrary to the Geneva Convention, on behalf of a non-profit funded by a left-wing activist billionaire.
George Kent, the chargé d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev, requested in a letter to the Ukrainian general prosecutor's office in April 2016 that its prosecution of the Anti-Corruption Action Center be dropped.

And a few months later, Ukraine's new general prosecutor, Yuri Lutsenko, told Solomon he was stunned when U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch "gave me a list of people whom we should not prosecute," including the Anti-Corruption Action Center.

However, in a statement published by Interfax-Ukraine, Ukraine Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said Thursday that U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland never asked him for investigations into Joe Biden's son's role in Ukraine while Biden was vice president.
