I know that. But that simply means somebody Else on our team was completely uncovered/unblocked.

He'll be double teamed and held all year. If he's the high draft pick we all think he is, he'll figure it out in the coming weeks.

Exactly. Being "double-teamed" can't be an excuse for failure.

Caused Almond to have a "body cramp." Was a game-changer though.

Also, FWIW, NSU is not taking its band to Grambling this week. My understanding is they do two full-band road trips, Tech was a given....their Super Bowl, after all. The other is TBD, probably an important conference road game. At least, they hope they'll have an important game later in the season. I am also surprised they aren't even taking a pep band to Grambling.

    NSU has a great band.

(granted, after last night, the "something more special" seems like a pipe dream)
I disagree, 2011 and 2014 were some of our best defensive years in a long time.

They were the best over the last 20 years for sure.

The NSU game showed contrasting styles: LA Tech's "skill players" saved our bacon with a punt return for a TD, some big TD catches, 2 outstanding INT's and a fumble return for a TD. But unfortunately, our OL and DL took a pretty good whipping from an FCS team. Meanwhile, NSU's interior lines --both offensively and defensively-- played very well against us, but their skill players were ineffective. They dropped passes, and didn't have any big plays, other than the big deep TD pass that Sneed should have INT'd but let the NSU WR take it from him.
I should mention that the center was having trouble giving J'Mar the ball effectively, slowing down J'Mar, Carpenter got sick, and King was the faulty Safety on NWST's first TD, not Sneed.

2011? 2014? Does someone have the defensive stats for those years?

I just don't recall us playing "good" defense under Dykes or Holtz. Unless you're saying those two years, in comparison to all the others under those two were the best. Then, that may be. But, my standards for what constitutes GOOD defense have not been met under either Dykes or Holtz.

    Gonna be a long year.

This was posted three snaps into the game.

    LOL! That's good stuff.

But...Hey! so what!? We're the diehards on the BB&B. Super fans! Sue us for caring so much.

    (still funny stuff though)

It's pretty funny. There are some classic meltdowns in BBB lore.

They actually seem to write some decent blog posts.
