    Bands you Like From Genres You Don't Like

    So here's an idea.

    Discuss bands/singers/acts that you like from genres that you DON'T like.

    I'll start off with Brad Paisley. I am in no way a fan of modern country music, but this guy has talent.

    Also, I dislike electronic/dance music on sheer principles but MGMT is the junk.

    I like Prince and Andre 3000 (or 2000, whatever). I don't like that kind of music, but appreciate the genius in a couple of songs.

    I also have a new appreciation for George Strait (not a country music fan). I never saw the attraction to "King George"... he doesn't write, he doesn't play an instrument, he just sings. But I've grown to appreciate the passion in his voice and his story-telling ability.

    Brad Paisley is also the first one I thought of when I saw your thread title. And I'd be remiss if I didn't include Chet Atkins, as well. I also thought Sawyer Brown was pretty cool.
