5 home games, 7 road games....all of which are very losable. Not that I think we will lose 'em all. Actually, 2-5 on the road is most likely. Can we run the table at home, with that weak-azz home slate, please? That's not asking too much, is it? Maybe 7-5 this year.
Embrace the mediocrity!
That's what it feels like.
When I look back at some of those LA Tech videos of outstanding Dog plays in the other thread --and then I think about last year's team-- I wonder where the fun has gone? Where's the excitement? I know Skip Holtz isn't a "run & gun" type of guy, but damn, we need to get some excitement and energy back in Ruston!
As a group, us LA Tech fans are far too unappreciative of Sonny Dykes. Sonny was only in Ruston for 3 years, and still managed to deliver football ROAD wins over Ole Miss, Virginia, Houston and Illinois OOC, won a WAC Conference Championship in 2011 (when he won tough WAC games on the road at Fresno St, Utah St and Nevada), earned a Top 25 national ranking in 2012, and gave us a really good Poinsettia Bowl appearance against a very tough TCU team that we lost to in a very close battle. Dykes also delivered a 2-time Ray Guy Award Winning punter (Ray Allen) and LA Tech's first 9-win season in 15 years when his 2012 team finished 9-3, Tech's first 9-win season since Gary Crowton's 1997 team finished 9-2 as an Independent.
The brand of football Dykes played was exciting, and it got quick results.
