Basketball LHSAA denies North Louisiana state basketball championships

Ruston (Thomas Assembly Center), Shreveport-Bossier (CenturyLink Center), and Lake Charles (Burton Coliseum) bid for the high school boys basketball championships... The LHSAA awarded it to Lake Charles.

Monroe (Fant-Ewing Coliseum), Hammond (University Center), and Lake Charles (Burton Coliseum) bid for the high school girls basketball championships... The LHSAA awarded it to Lake Charles.

Lafayette (Cajundome) did not bid for either.

Lake Charles won both basketball championships on an 11-8 vote.
Shreveport-Bossier was runner-up for the boys basketball championships.
Hammond was runner-up for the girls basketball championships.

New Orleans will obviously keep the football championships.
Lake Charles won boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball (Sulphur), and softball (Sulphur) championships.
    New Orleans won soccer championships.
    Monroe won tennis championships.

While the other sites were basically offering to host for free, Lake Chuck promised to pay the LHSAA $20,000 if they were granted both the boys and girls basketball championships.

More madness.. LHSAA may have 10 football championships, with as few a six schools competing in some classifications. http://www.thenewsstar.com/article/2...ball-champions

    20K plus all ticket sales

Total corruption is the answer unless sombody can explain to me why the LHSAA needs more money. They should scrap the whole mess starting with Kenny Henderson.

Not just $20,000. $20,000 plus rent free facility, and proceeds of tickets. Convention and visitors money, not University funds.
