Louisiana Tech quarterback Tim Rattay, who led the nation in total offense a year ago, and wide receiver Troy Edwards provided some excitement for the 76,021 in attendance. Edwards caught 21 passes for 405 yards and three touchdowns (a 4th receiving touchdown was called back due to a penalty). The senior's receiving total set a single-game NCAA record.

"In all my playing days, I have never seen a person do what Troy Edwards did to us," Nebraska rover Mike Brown said. "This is the most impressive performance I have ever seen in my life."

Rattay lit up Nebraska's defense with a 46-for-68 passing show with 590 yards and four touchdowns. Rattay's completion, attempts and passing yards totals are Louisiana Tech records.



Husker defenders like Brian Shaw (right) always seemed to be a few steps behind Louisiana Tech wide receiver Troy Edwards Saturday as he amassed an NCAA record 405 receiving yards on 21 catches.

I'm absolutely sick I can't make this game. You guys were without a doubt the best hosts I've ever been around. Of course, it's easy to be gracious when you have just finished beating the crap out of your opponent. I have a question, though. Are you guys so kind with the Colorado people when they come visit?

Hahaha, depends on what Husker fan you ask. Some are so disgusted by them as fans that they could never give them the warm shoulder at all.

Especially after how they treat our fans when we go to Boulder. They actually take balloons and fill them with urine to throw at cars and people when Nebraska goes to Boulder. I seen CU students try to pick fights with elder fans and other things.

BUT...I have met some great CU fans who are nice and will actually say "good game" after the game. I had a coworker who was a CU alum and we would always talk Big 12 football and after last seasons 30-3 win over Colorado. He came up to me to say "good game".

Because of fans like this. I personally, could never give the cold shoulder to CU fans. I think the general rule of any fan who comes to Lincoln is you respect the other teams fans and be the best hosts you can possibly be. Nebraska fans pride themselves by doing this.

In loss or defeat. Nebraska fans will give the credit where its due.

I don't know if our AD would schedule a game at Louisiana Tech. The recruiting is very good in Louisiana, it would help our exposure in the state. Their is word that a series with LSU is in the talks.

We played at Southern Miss a couple of years ago but that was scheduled by the previous AD. The new one choose to honor that contract when he could have decided not to play there.

i would love to get a 2 for 1 with nebraska. miami was a good draw in shreveport and i think nebraska would be good too.
