Never thought about this but it definitely needs to happen.

It was time for Holtz to go. He had gotten too comfortable and was resting on his laurels. Cumbie was definitely the wrong choice though. With our administration (Pres/AD) in play the last year or so, they obviously weren't going to own up to their decision to hire Cumbie. One would hope they would have dealt with it eventually, but probably not. Maybe our new Pres and AD will want to make a course change and resolve this train wreck sooner rather than later.
If he's still around, Crummy will be the first (and then only) coach in Tech football history to have three straight losing seasons. As it stands now, he is one of three who started their careers with back-to-back losing season. Neither of the previous two got a chance for a third year.
Some of our fans point to Bechtol and Torbush as being horrible coaches, and they did leave a lot to be desired. But their Tech teams would beat Crummy's teams. I have never seen it this bad. Not in my 50+ years of closely following Tech football.
Yes, it was past time for Skip to go. We didn’t have it good toward the end of Skips’ tenure and I don’t miss him at all. Seriously doubt the program would be any better off with Skip.
Just re-reading the 2021 thread of the Tech/USM embarrassing game, everyone wanted Skip gone. USM (1-9) with no QB got a win over Tech. We had Aaron Allen with 100 yd passing, 2 INT, 2 Sacks. Skip was done with college ball at Tech. He gave up. His play calling and game management was atrocious. On Cumbie, dude doesn't know how to run a football program. He should of stayed a position coach somewhere. That was a bad unlucky hire after letting go of Skip.

Actually we beat USL 17-0 earlier in the season, and I think we had another win too going into the NLU game. We lost at Miami 6-0 holding them to two field goals. The refs got us good that game and three times we went for it on 4th down when in FG range.
FWIW
Nicholls' offense enjoyed more success vs LSU than they did against us, with three legit 75+ yard TD drives. So, maybe we have a decent defense. Yeah, I know, I am grasping for straws. :icon_roll:
On the flip side LSU's offense throttled Nicholls, including 6 TD passes.
NC State got smashed by Tennessee, embarrassed, even with Grayson McCall as their QB they could manage only 10 points. That means they are going to be looking to take it out on someone...
ULM beat the brakes off of UAB yesterday 32-6. Its amazing what hiring a competent coach does for a program.
