Re: Louisiana Governor Threatens to cut College Football
Dem. Edwards throwing out a "red herring" while he steals you guys blind with the largest tax increase ever! Typical lying tax and spend liberal. Both sides of the aisle lie but these guys are ruthlessly pathological liars to their core. They have learned from the best (Clinton/Gore/Kerry/Obama/Pelosi/Reid/every Kennedy) After all of these decades (heck centuries) of the same democrat/liberal policies and power in Louisiana, driving it to the poor house, when will the good people of Louisiana learn?

It was a Republican governor and legislature that got them into this mess. There is no escaping that.
Re: Louisiana Governor Threatens to cut College Football
Politics = the blame game. It is possible that both parties suck in their own right.

It was obummer's lousy economy and HUGE tax increases across the board, and especially obummer's attack on the O&G industry....very important to Louisiana, just in case you didn't know, and the drop in oil prices that have strained the state's budget.
Did Jindal and leg contribute to the woes? Yes. Mostly thru the poorly conceived/delivered entertainment industry incentives that cost the state an avg. of $516 million per year. That was just rectified midway in 2015 and should help the budget woes going forward. But, for about 6 years (X 516 million) it cost the state $3 billion. What's the current debt...$2.1 billion?
Tax incentives are GREAT and should be used by all govmint entities, from local to federal, but only when it results in a net gain in revenue. Now, why this was allowed to go for 6 years and no one seemed to know, or care, even though Sec of Treasury John Kennedy did scream about this on occasion, I can't say.
So, the misinformed blame Jindal....and yet all JBE has done so far is double down on everything everyone is screaming about that Jindal did! Jindal is gone! Aim your barbs at the guy who can fix things....if he's a mind to.
Now, not that anyone who suckles at the tits of guvmint will care, but Jindal did some great things for Louisiana in his first two years in office. Unfortunately, he then "checked out" and spent more time in Iowa and elsewhere and left the state on cruise control with effectively no one in charge. That is when the problems began to creep in. Strong leadership was needed to deal with the crappy obummer economy, the recession in the O&G industry, and other issues and Jindal was out of state. That, I do blame on Jindal.

I agree with you Jindal caused the mess and the weak legislature allowed it. Jindal held their projects hostage in order to get what they wanted, and they couldn't see the bigger picture. Jindal is equally as corrupt as Obama, he just doesn't hate America. That said, they all need to work together to cut the excess crap out of the budget and fund what is important. Tax and spend has never been a way to "fix" a weak economy- there need to be true cuts.

Partisan posturing, which you love to do, is a huge part of the problem.
Re: Louisiana Governor Threatens to cut College Football
What's happening is 8 years of the worst governor Louisiana has ever known. YES BOBBY PAYUSH JINDAL. is coming back to bite Louisiana in the ass. You guys will never learn that ineptitude comes at a price and now it's time to pay.

I do as I'm anti-democrat. But yes both sides nationally have caused this country's problems. I do think more one side vs. the other but both never-the-less. But on a Louisiana state level it's by far the liberal democrats for decades in Red Stickthat have caused this mess.

Kennedy has now provided Gov. Edwards with a list of 400 places where cuts can be made and, therefore; avoid having to raise taxes!! However, I doubt that Edwards will listen. The SOP of Democrats is...tax and spend. Edwards proposed an additional one cent sales tax which he said will go away after the budget gets back in line. Yeah, right, will go away....I believe that like I believe what Hillary says! Edwards needs to get with Kennedy NOW and do some listening and reading the two binder notebooks Kennedy has provided to him in regard to where cuts can be made!!!!! Then, he and the legislature need to make those cuts pronto!
Re: Louisiana Governor Threatens to cut College Football
Wouldn't it be great if we had a "Politics" forum where we could move threads about football that morph into a political debate?
